Sewing Seeds of Confidence
Giving Threads

Our Mission
Building Confidence
The greatest thing a child can wear is confidence. Giving Threads' mission is to boost confidence and self esteem of underprivileged junior high students. We endeavor to decrease the bullying and teasing that comes at this difficult age when a student doesn't feel like they fit it due to their second hand and very worn clothing.
We believe every student should have the opportunity to own new, name brand clothing that hasn't been passed down and purchased at thrift stores.
Feeling great in your clothes is a powerful tool for success.
As one person I cannot change the world,
But I can change the world
of one person.

Where We Shop
With our mission always in mind, we believe that new clothes rather than used clothing from thrift stores build the confidence of students and helps eliminate bullying. For this reason we partner with local department stores with good reputations for having quality well constructed clothing.

How We do This
Because many students in need have never had the opportunity to shop for themselves in department stores, each student is paired with a designated shopper. This shopper is a volunteer who helps the student find school appropriate clothing and keeps tally of the students budget. Each student has a budget of $200.00-250.00 to spend on clothing, accessories, coats and shoes.

How You Can Help
You can make a remarkable difference in the life of someone in need. We are supported by donations of time and money.
100% of every donation goes directly to the student shopping trips. All of our support staff is volunteer based. Please call us today if you would like to know how you can help.
